SterileStart utilizes several cutting-edge technologies to address bio-burdens such as mold and bacteria through treatment and/or system installation.

Cold Vapor Diffusion (CVD)

Effective for disinfection, mold removal and odor removal (particularly effective when high mold spore counts are present or there is a high particulate matter concentration).

SterileStart’s Cold Vapor Diffusion (CVD) is an advanced, non-invasive dry fog disinfection process that kills/inactivates mold and bacteria in your home or office. The CVD process vaporizes a fungicidal disinfectant under negative pressure, thereby creating “cold steam”. This unique feature drastically extends contact time and eliminates wetting of surfaces and issues with condensation, the major drawback with other fogging processes.

Vapor pressure diffusion maximizes penetration into voids and deep into soft surfaces (carpet, drapes, furniture, HVAC cabinet insulation, etc.) resulting in complete mold and bacteria removal.

Chlorine Dioxide Gas Disinfection & Odor Removal

Chlorine dioxide is a sterilant gas registered by the EPA that effectively eliminates all forms of microbial life including fungi, viruses, and bacteria. It is also effective at eliminating VOCs, toxins, and odors. Used in liquid form since the 1950’s in water treatment facilities, it has more recently become popular for large-scale building decontamination. Chlorine dioxide gas penetrates microscopic scratches and crevices, and other pathogen harborage points that are difficult, if not impossible to reach using other application methods such as liquids or fogging. While chlorine dioxide gas does have an odor similar to a swimming pool, it is important to know that it does not contain any chlorine gas.

One of the best disinfectants out there and capable of accomplishing sterilization, chlorine dioxide gas disinfection is our preferred method of building decontamination where it can be safely used, such as in stand-alone buildings and homes. Chlorine dioxide gas is also an excellent odor eliminator, even at low concentrations and is SterileStart’s “go to” for odor removal in the Charleston, SC area. As potent as it is during application, there is no harmful residue left behind after treatment.

PhotohydroionizationR (PHI)

Installed system approach for long-term air and surface purification. PhotohydroionizationR or PHI is a patented Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) technology for installation in various HVAC systems. Creates airborne gaseous hydrogen peroxide for distribution throughout the living or working spaces, reducing viruses, bacteria, mold spores and odors at the source. As Mother Nature's chosen sanitizer, hydrogen peroxide is incredibly effective at reducing indoor contaminants, just as it is outside.
